Kasey Grigsby, Originally from Spotsylvania Virginia, began dancing at age 3. Growing up she was part of the competition dance scene attending various conventions and competitions such was Tremaine Dance, where she has worked closely with Keri LaGrand and Derrick Schrader. After Graduating She went on to pursue her dance career at VCU. Eventually graduating with her BFA in Dance and Choreography and a minor in Psychology. While in school she was fortunate enough to study abroad in Paris, working closing with 27 various artist such as Wanjiru Kamuyu, Julian Desplantez, Babatunji Johnson with Alonzo King LINES, Kevin Quinaou with NDT and Jiri Kylian with Crystal Pite. Expanding her knowledge Kasey has attended winter workshops with Hubbard Street, Yin Yue and GAGA at Mark Morris. During her senior year Kasey’s Senior Capstone was one of three student choreographed pieces selected to perform at American College Dance Festival representing VCU. From there this piece , Unraveling Connections, went on to win the LINK Winter Film Festival. Kasey also has her Group Fitness and Yoga certification which allow her other outlets to move and understand the human body. As an artist her mission is to find the balance of strength and restoration in movement practices allowing dance to become and outlet for those who need it. Kasey wishes to continue dancing, teaching and learning from all the creative people that influence her life!
