Jennifer Bondgren
HELLO, MY NAME IS
Jennifer Bondgren
Certified Dance Masters of America instructor with over 30 years experience at numerous highly regarded dance studios in the Buffalo, NY and Northern Virginia areas. She is certified in ballet, tap, and jazz but also has many years of experience in lyrical and musical theater. Before becoming a teacher and choreographer, Jennifer started dancing and competing at the age of 9. She trained under Barb Denny, a Dance Hall of Fame inductee. Her team, under Barb Denny, earned the title of grand champion all four years of her high school career.
Jennifer has choreographed plays and kindergarten graduations for Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Elementary School. She improved individual children’s abilities letting their particular skills enhance the entire group’s performances. As Assistant Show Choir Director, she worked with children as well as adults in various show choir performances.
Once moving to Virginia, she took time off to start a family. In 2007, she was the lead dance instructor at The Little Gym in the Woodbridge and Gainesville areas. There she worked with children from the ages of 6 months to 12 years old. In 2009, she decided to come back to the dance studio life where she taught in Woodbridge and continued in the Fredericksburg area. Her main focus was the company/competition team, along with younger dance classes such as Creative Movement, Combo Classes, and Sing and Dance. During that time she won overall and specialty awards, including choreography and entertainment in tap, lyrical, jazz and musical theater.
In general, Jennifer has been directly involved in establishing routines for students to learn and perform. She has created routines for children as well as adults. She has maintained her direct involvement in parent relations to keep adults aware of their child’s progress and any special attention needed. She is always trying to create new ways to make routines more easily learned (and fun!) for younger students.
Jennifer lives in the Stafford area with her husband Mark and her kids Ryan and Janelle. She is excited to be back and joining the Polaris family to teach tap and musical theater.
