Dana Saether

HELLO, MY NAME IS

Dana Saether

Ballet Instructor/Prince & Princess Camp Director

Dana Saether was born in Alexandria, Virginia and has lived in the Fredericksburg area for most of her life. She was a student at Stafford Ballet Academy, where she received eleven years of classical ballet instruction from Judith Kegg. In the studio’s productions she’s played a variety of different roles, including the snow queen and dew drop fairy in The Nutcracker and Swanilda in Coppélia, among others.

Dana is a graduate of the University of Virginia, with a bachelor of science in biology. Her goal is to become a marine biologist, specializing in conservation. When she is not at Polaris, she models through an agency in Washington DC. At the studio, Dana is the Director of the Prince and Princess summer camps as well as a ballet teacher. Teaching ballet to younger students is one of her greatest pleasures. Dana also has several years of experience with children outside of dance, working as a summer camp counselor and nanny.

Aside from ballet, Dana enjoys other forms of art such as painting. She loves to spend time with her family, her dog and her hedgehog. She is an avid hockey fan. She has greatly enjoyed the art of ballet since she was young, and admires the intense skill behind it, and the constant effort it requires. Her favorite ballet, both to watch and perform, is Swan Lake, and her favorite company is Mariinsky.
