Claryssa Griffin started dancing at the age of 3 and began competing for dance and cheerleading at the age of six. She attended Arabesque Dance Studio and B-Funk Dance Studio, where she took classes in Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Modern, Hip-Hop and Musical Theater. In high school she joined the Senior Dance company as a freshman and became captain of the dance/cheer team 4 years in a row. Claryssa choreographed her senior group dance for the graduating class of 2007 and was an All-Star cheerleader for 10 years, where she learned all types of tumbling and gymnastic skills. She taught dance and tumble camps at local YMCA and other after school programs while in high school.

Claryssa performed in half time shows for basketball and football games and was cast in the half time show for Superbowl XLIII in Tampa Florida. As part of her professional dancing career, she danced and worked at Universal Studios and Six Flags performing and choreographing multiple shows a day. Claryssa worked as a backup dancer in shows and performances in several states including MD, VA, FL, NY, and NJ. She choreographed routines for cheer and dance teams while living in FL for local teams and coached All-Star cheer for 3 years while living in Boynton Beach, FL. In total, Claryssa has been coaching competitive dance for almost 18 years starting as a student teacher when she was just 15 years old. Teaching has been her passion and love from a very early age.

Claryssa is Acro/Gym certified. She has lived in Virginia for over 14 years and has 2 beautiful daughters. She is currently working at A.G. Wright Middle School in Stafford County.

Claryssa looks forward to working with the Polaris students in their Acro classes to help them grow and achieve their goals!
